Ms. Rimona's class 

This week in UOI:-
We unpacked the unit of inquiry “Simple machines”. 


Students were involved in hands-on learning. They understood that work involves action and requires force to move an object.


They took challenges to move heavy objects and understood that work can be done by using less force and created an inclined plane (slide).



This week in Literacy:-

We read a book on fiction and non-fiction and sorted the difference between the two in a Venn diagram.


This week in math:-

Introduction to subtraction:-

Students enjoyed listening to the story Pete the cat and his 4 groovy buttons and made connections. 


Show and tell:-
Students continue to bring show and tell related to the unit to build the machine center. 
  






Ms. Anuradha's class

In UOI, we enjoyed identifying more about work and force.


Students had fun in working with different tools and check how each tool help us. They identified different machines at school.




In Math, we learnt subtraction using different strategies.


















In Literacy, we compared and contrasted fiction and non-fiction books.








Ms. Aarti's class

Unit Of Inquiry


Students inquired into the unit, by finding the difference between work done and no work done.

Can you push something heavier than you?
More people means more pushing power.

Students identified different ways to build a ramp in order to make the car move on a book.





Students brainstormed about different inclined planes they had seen in their day-to- day life.

Literacy 

We read a fiction book named SNOW HAPPY! and a non-fiction book named ANTARCTICA The Frozen Continent.

Students identified the difference between the two texts and sorted various books in groups.



Show and tell  time

Numeracy

Students used different strategies to analyze and solve subtraction problems.

Art

Unit : Places around the World
In this unit students will explore different mediums and art forms using different techniques. They learned how to make nesting dolls from Russia; they made designs on them. Students were very excited to learn about nesting dolls. They enjoyed a lot doing this activity.





Music and Movement Update

This week, SKG students worked hard to perfect their movements and learn new ones. They have been thoroughly enjoying their songs and have taken an active interest in learning the movements. They are excited to present their dances to you!

I pad session

(Reading, writing and speaking skills )


           Student's drew pictures and wrote the Hindi consonants in an -I pad session. After they finished their written work. they spoke the consonants in Hindi with correct pronunciation. With I-pad session the students developed their reading, writing and speaking skills. They enjoyed their learning engagements during this I- pad session.

Patriotic song ( Desh bhakti geet)   

"Saare jahan se achha Hindostan hamara..."  Hindi poem/song


Students sang the songs few lines with action.( It support  them to improve their listening and speaking skills)

In this patriotic song students were excited and they were all involved in the song through the actions. They also sang the poem.

Learning activity on Indian Monuments

Students watched a video of famous 10 monuments in India. such as
Taaj-mahal, Laal- kila, Kutub- minar, Kamal- mandir, surya mandir etc. Here is the link to the video.

After the video, students discussed in a group about Indian monuments. Teachers also helped them understood about their responsibility towards these monuments.

Coloring activity:

Students also colored the activity sheet related to the monuments of India. They enjoyed  this activity. Just see some images of this class activity and students expressions...

Students learned and wrote the Hindi consonants  ba, bha, ma, ya, ra, la ,va, sha and sshha. They traced and wrote, drew the related pictures and colored the worksheets. They also wrote theses consonants in the note book.
