Field day:-
The field
day on Monday, 24th November was full of fun, cheers, exciting
games, and great exhibition of sportsmanship qualities by early years students.
Parents and teachers cheered the little ones when they participated
enthusiastically in the races held by the P.E department. Kudos to all who participated!!!
What a lovely day it was indeed.
Students
have unpacked the central idea and understood how plants can be a resource
to living things such as birds, animals, humans and insects. They realised that
plants provide shelter to birds and animals and give fruits and vegetables to
humans. Our little ones have started building their indoor garden in class.
They have potted the seeds like coriander, beans etc to take responsibility to
see it grow and understand the process of germination and parts of the plant.
They
observed the plant daily and learned the parts of the plant i.e seed, shoot,
root, stem, leaf.
The function of
roots:- Students experimented with tissue paper and water to understand that roots
are found under the soil and their main function is to anchor the plants in the
soil, to hold the plant upright and to absorb water.
Measurement
Students
potted the plants and have put a candy stick to measure the growth of the plant.
Students use non standard unit of measurement to measure their friends height.
