·        Students explored the theme “How we organize ourselves" by making a list and through discussions.

·        Students identified different communities they belong to.

·        Tuning In activity- Students went for a school tour to see how school is organized.

Students shared what they already Know about communities.
What they Want to know about communities.

Students watched ' The city mouse and country mouse story' to understand two different communities.

Needs and Wants
Students could understand and differentiate between the needs and wants through pictures and by making a list.

Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop-
    • Students were able to reflect on their reading and good fit book choices.
    • Students were able to share a special reading memory.
    • Students know their class reading goals.
    • Students explored their own preferences and habits by touring the library and talking to other readers.


Phonics
  • Students were able to read, identify, write and create word families.
  • Students enjoyed watching the videos and songs related to the word family.


Reading time! 
The Daily five- Read to Self, Read to someone,  Listen to reading and Word Work.

Students are reading unit related vocabulary and sight words.

Students are learning about fractions through stories, situation activities and manipulatives.
